Dissident DJ is designed to emulate a typical club mixing deck on your desktop. It allows you to organise your digital music collection, cue up and play tracks on a number of virtual decks, which means you no longer need to carry hundreds of CD's to your gigs, and can instead mix from your entire collection from a simple laptop PC. It is also ideal for venues looking to expand their mixing facilities without the need to purchase expensive equipment.

History
The software was originally designed, coded for and used by London based club promoters Dissident Promotions during a number of their events. It proved so useful that we have since been building on the original technology to improve it and make it available for mass release.

Features
Dissident DJ II is built upon the Dissident Media Engine, which utilizes a number of popular open source solutions and is currently being developed and tested on both Linux and Windows platforms. The following features are currently supported:
  • Playback of FLAC, OGG, MP3 and WMA formats.
  • Scheduling and mixing using up to four virtual decks using a simple drag & drop interface.
  • Easy importing and managing of your music collection into the XML format.

Many more are currently in development.
